They teach for us

Benedikt Bömer

PT, MSc

Benedikt Bömer graduated from the School of Physiotherapy in Bad Abbach in December 1988. Shortly afterwards, at the Werner-Wicker Rehabilitation Center, he worked with patients after brain and spinal cord injuries. It was not an easy start to his career, but Benedikt has never looked for easy paths.

He then moved to Berlin, where for two years, in the private practice Wellenbrock/Prytulla, he helped children with cerebral palsy.

In the 1990s, he also began teaching others – at the Academy of Rehabilitation in Berlin he gave classes in PNF and neurology. He later became deputy director of the Department of Neurological and Orthopedic Disorders at the Westend Clinic.

From 1996, he managed the Departments of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Sports Therapy at the Beelitz-Heilstätten Rehabilitation Clinic – a large center where patients after strokes, spinal cord injuries or with Parkinson’s disease regained their independence. In his work, he always gives his whole heart to “get people back on their feet,” true to his maxim: “Although it will never be as it was, it can always be better than today.”

After 2002, he remained in Beelitz as a clinical consultant, and since 2021 he has been a supervisor at Median Klinik Kladow, where he supports physiotherapists and occupational therapists.

Throughout his career he has continuously added new skills to his “toolbox”: a course in manual therapy, international PNF instructor license (basic courses since 1999, advanced since 2003, senior since 2014), Bobath instructor license (since 2003, advanced courses since 2016), and a Master’s degree in Neuroscience (2014).

As a teacher, he is full of passion and energy. He teaches in an extraordinary way, drawing participants into lively interaction from the very first minute. In his classes, bursts of laughter do not disturb concentration, and in the eyes of participants you can see excitement, amazement and fascination. This combination of knowledge, experience and unique atmosphere ensures that what you learn in his courses stays with you for a long time. He has shared his expertise with course participants in Germany, Poland, Greece, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Japan, South Korea and Brazil.

And privately? Benedikt is someone who rarely sits on the couch after work. He loves sailing, can juggle, rides a unicycle and rollerblades, has recently taken up bouldering, and in winter… masters new tricks on the snowboard, laughing in the face of his age.
